He touched me softly, causing a tingly sensation to run through my body. I could feel his breath on the back of my neck, I caught a slight hint of the spearmint gum in his mouth. It was nice because Josh hasn’t touched me in a while, ever since we adopted Amelia.
She’s been acting weird talking to herself, she says she’s talking to the angels. Hard to believe. Otherwise, she is perfect with her porcelain skin and rosy cheeks. She’s sweet and always helpful and does well in school.
Amelia screamed and I ran to her. I found her in the floor and to my dis belief, wings were sprouting from her shoulder blades. They are beautiful but bloody and the scent of it, intoxicating.
The feathered wings were pearl white and I don’t know why I am so amazed at the sight of an angel. I always thought they were a myth, just as I am. I may be a vampire but I’m no dummy.
Now that they’re done sprouting, she has calmed down… But she says to me, “There’s a cure!”
“A cure for what?” I asked.
She said “A cure for you.”
What does she mean, a cure for me? I am a vampire! There’s no cure for me!
As I watch her, tattoos form on her face. It’s a sun and a compass pointing North. What is happening to her?
“Amelia,” I say very calmly as I stroke her hair. “Do you know what’s happening to you?”
“They told me” she answers.
“They told you what?”
“It’s a map with to a cure for you.” She shut her eyes and has fallen into a deep sleep.
I screamed for Josh and he ran in to see what the problem is. I explained what happened to Amelia and told him about the cure and the map.
“That’s impossible!” He exclaimed.
“We need to figure out this map.” I said as I pointed out the sun and compass on Amelia’s face.
“What about North of the equator?”
“Europe. The place we need to go is Europe!” I hurried online and bought airplane tickets for this afternoon. As we packed, Amelia awoke and for each good thing she managed to do, a new addition to the map appeared. 2232 Angel Boulevard was one of them. Of course Angel Boulevard.
Now that we’re in Europe, we’ll rent a car and visit Angel Boulevard. The drive is short according to the GPS.
After a few minutes, we have arrived in front of an abandoned building.
Upon entering we find that there is no one here. Nothing but a dusty old bookshelf that Amelia is standing against. Now it glows and it’;s opening up! A scrawny old man is gawking at us! As I move closer to him I notice he has wings as well!
“Ahh, the map! Come in, come in!” he gestures us forward. “So, you’re looking for the cure! The cure is a dangerous mission! No man, woman or vampire has ever come back!”
I step forward and bow my head, “I’m willing to risk my immortality for this.” I stammered.
“There will be witches, daemons, warlocks and much more! You must be prepared! So, you will train here!”
“I thought you couldn’t kill deamons.” I say nervously.
“You can’t, but you can send them back to their hellish lands!” he replied.
“How do I do that?” I ask him.
“You will learn.”
